Why should you care? MasterChef winner Ash Mair is working with this Spanish Pinxtos restaurant to bring the brand to the UK. it will be a mixture of pinxtos (Basque tapas) and more formal dining with Mair hoping to put his own stamp on it too.
In a nutshell: Ducasse at the Bulgari
Where is it? Bulgari Hotel & Residences, London at 171 Knightsbridge, London SW7 1DW.
Why should you care? With a three Michelin starred restaurant over at the Dorchester, this will be Alain Ducasse’s second London restaurant. It’ll be an informal affair and based on Ducasse’s existing restaurant of the same name at Hôtel Byblos in St Tropez with a mixture of French and Italian dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.
In a nutshell: Ex Young Turk James Lowe’s long awaited restaurant.

Why should you care? James Lowe’s restaurant at the Tea Building in Shoreditch should be one of the big openings of the year. After big success at the Ten Bells, his all day restaurant will showcase his food and also aims to serve a damn fine coffee too.
In a nutshell: Japanese pub from ex Wabi chef
Where is it? 17-20 Kendal Street, London, W2 2AW
Why should you care? This is an izakaya or traditional Japanese style pub this September just by Marble Arch, from the former head chef of Nobu and most recently Wabi London. Open all day from early morning to late evening Kurobuta will have room for 80 and also serve up a range of dishes to go. A pop-up in Chelsea has been a big hit, so expect this to be huge too.

Why should you care? David Moore (of Pied a Terre) has opened this “smokehouse, cocktail bar and craft beer concept” in North London.

Why should you care? This is the first time that growing dirty food mini-chains Chicken Shop and Dirty Burger have been seen under the same roof. Choose either beef of fowl and have plenty of choice of cocktails, wine and beer to go with them.
